Bespoke
From a pencil line to your finger
A commission takes about eight weeks. You see the drawings, hold the wax, choose the stone and can watch the ring being made through the glass.
How a commission works
Consultation
An hour at the showroom table: what you love, how it will be worn, a budget. We look at stones and metals and draw while we talk. Free.
Drawings and design deposit
We send finished drawings with prices for two or three stones. When you're happy, a £300 design deposit starts the work.
Wax model
We carve the ring in wax so you can try it on and see it from every side. Changes are easy at this point.
Making and setting
We melt the metal, forge and shape the ring, send it for hallmarking, then set the stone under the microscope.
Collection
A last polish, a photo for you and your insurer, and the ring in its box. Bring it back any time for a free clean and check.

Questions about commissions
How long does it take?
About eight weeks from the consultation. If you have a date, tell us: we can usually make a ring in five weeks once the design is settled.
Can you use my grandmother's diamond?
Yes. We check it under the microscope first, then design the ring round it. We can melt down the old gold too, if it tests clean.
What if I'm proposing and it has to be a surprise?
Come alone and we'll guess the size together (see our ring sizing guide). We resize engagement rings once for free.
Do you value rings for insurance?
We don't: we give you photos and a full description, and recommend an independent valuer.
