We found the sapphire at a fair in the spring: unheated, from a mine we know in Sri Lanka, with a blue that stays deep even in shade. The pear diamond leans into it as if the two were cut for each other.
There is one Tidewater. When it goes, we’ll make something else from the next stone that stops us in our tracks.
